How do you deal with your ex in-laws with a child involved ?

I work with my ex-in-laws and they spoil my exwife with money. She dosent work but her parents pay for all her bills and buy my kid everything in the book. Toys, Toys, and More Toys. Im afraid he will never learn a lesson of a dollar after watching my exwife and her parents spend money the way they do and I dont want my son to resent me when I tell him he has to earn it.How do you deal with your ex in-laws with a child involved ?
The best thing to do woudl be to confront the inlaws about the excessive spending on their grandchild and see if they can agree to limit it somewhat.

Depending on the age of the child if they are less than say 7 or so they really dont understand money conecpts yet anyway.

Most kids dont really get where or how money plays a part in our daily lives until around 10 or so. So if they are still young wouldnt worry too much. Other wise continue to talk with your child and let them know that this is not normally how things work and that you are just trying to prepare them for a well educated and balanced future by teaching them the importance of earning a wage.

Leave it alone and stay out of it. What they are doing just makes your job a little tougher. When your kid turns into an adult and sees how the real world works, he will have dad to thank for trying to teach him.
Im not 100% sure about what your question is....But...You cannot change your ex or her parents. You can have a talk with your ex about your concerns but at the end of the day you have no control over her or her parents. All you can do is demonstrate responsible spending by being a good role model %26amp; keeping an open line of communication with your child about responsibility. There will come a point in his life when he will appreciate that lesson.
You can always voice your concerns to you ex-inlaws and ex-wife, but if she has custody of the child, you will have to rely on the valuable time you have with him to teach him the values you wish him to have without degrading his mom and grandparents. Thoughtful conversations with him will have more of an impact than you would imagine.
